Welcome to my toolbox!

It doesn't matter what you do, where you're at with your personal or professional life, whether you're a manager, a team leader or a fresh graduate, what matters most is HOW you show up everyday in everything you do no matter what happens and be grateful for even the little things you have in life.
Do you choose your mindset everyday? Are you grateful for what you have in your life? If you don't yet practice this, perhaps it's time to start making this a habit. Start choosing your mindset, set your intention and send back gratitude everyday. Setting intention is like choosing the daily program that you want your mind to run everyday. I'm not joking, you can decide how do you want your day to go! Try it on and you'll get what I mean. Now you may be thinking "What if I've decided that I will experience a wonderful day but something unpleasant happen during the day that may affect my day - my mood, my thinking and my feeling, what do I do then?".
Choosing your mindset is not an act of using the magic wand to miraculously transform your day before you start. It is about taking responsibility and focusing on what you have decided to be important and everything else no longer matter. The mind is a fascinating part of our body that responds really well when we decide to take control - this is exactly why you need to decide what program to run in your mind from the start of the day! It will set itself to focus on experiencing what you've decided NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS. If you've decided you'll have a great lunch catch up with a friend, the restaurant got your order mixed up; instead of getting upset about the order, your mind will automatically remind you to focus on your friend because that's what matters most.
It is the same at work, when you've chosen your mindset and clear about your purpose, a co-worker may make a certain comment about your work, your team members may not be as cooperative, instead of delving on the comment or the team members' behaviour, your mind will focus on the ways you can make it a productive and purposeful day for your team, people around you and you. When you look at it in greater depth, you don't just experience a productive and purposeful day at work but you have also created a positive Ripple Effect in your co-workers and team members' day. Isn't it a wonderful thing to be able to create such a Ripple Effect?
So my quirky way to remind you of this would be to ask yourself this question "Do you want to create positive Ripple Effect or Crippling Effect in your everyday life?" You can make that choice! Remember that you have the power to control your day and influence others!
This is how I show up everyday no matter what's going on in my life and I'm very grateful I've been able to create positive Ripple Effect in the lives of others. So how about you give it a go? It doesn't cost you anything but instead you will gain the experience of truly making a difference in your life from the day you decide to make this a habit!
As always, please leave me a comment if you like. I'd love to hear from you!
Whether you are at work, at home, socialising or even by yourself, you lead everyday. Your choice of words, your emotions, your thinking and perspective of life/things are directly and indirectly leading you and others around you.
So, what does it really take to LEAD? It's not about giving instructions or directions. The critical element in leading lies within the Environment you can choose to create for your team (yes, I'm referring to mindset here):
In summary, it's the art of knowing what matters most to your team(s) and allowing them to achieve those. When your team is in this space, they will continue to grow and bring results to the organisation. The Environment element is the one very important element that is often forgotten and I wonder why organisations face challenges in retaining good employees! My only wish is for organisations to invest time and effort in this element and bring it to live again because this is the heart of the business!
I get that numbers are important in businesses but what is numbers when organisations do not have a great team. In this modern business world, the art of selling and continuously achieving results comes from the heart that create outstanding customer experience. When a business opportunity is won, this is not the end of the customer relationship, it is just the beginning of the customer experience journey!
For those who are not leading a team just yet, this is still very applicable to you, your family and your social circle. How you do one thing is how you do everything. All you need to do is relate it to your own world because it is not about leadership but the mindset and heart to lead! And very often, the best place to start is from within!
I'd love to hear from you, so leave me a comment if you like,.
One of the stories gave me tears... An elderly went through so much physical pain and challenges in her life after a very nasty fall which landed her with 18 broken bones! As one could imagine, she had to endure the pain of surgeries let alone the recovery challenges. Doctors didn't have much hope and yet she didn't give up on herself despite her age! She told the doctors to proceed with the surgeries and that she will make it. If she doesn't, she knows that she has tried and fought hard for her own life. The doctors told her even if she survived the surgeries, there will be speech and mobility challenges. She told herself she will be well again and she did! She recovered because of her certainty, her focus and her determination! Is this inspiring or not?!
After hearing this story, I reflected on it even more, what's the deeper meaning of this story? It actually tells us that our mindset drive and support us to become who and what we want to be! We become what we focus on! And I cannot find a better story to relate.
Then I reflected even more... How often do we get to have such deep and meaningful conversation? Having the opportunity to sit there, connect and listen is such a precious GIFT!
My message in this blog is to invite all of you to cherish everyday in your life and live in the moment. The fact that we can breathe, see, smell and hear when we wake up everyday is a GIFT! Everyday when we can move around is a GIFT!
It doesn't matter what you're going through in life, you always have a choice to choose your mindset and to live this day (and everyday) with gratitude. Take deeper breathe, slow down (you will not miss out too much in your "busy" life if you take the time to enjoy a conversation, or take notice of what's around you when you're walking), listen from your heart, say words of encouragement to lift someone else's spirit. When we choose to live this day with gratefulness and live it as if it was our first day and our last day, we will live this day so well, live in every moment and appreciate every little things in life.
Today is a Gift, Life is a Book... so live this day (and everyday) to fullest and make it count, make a difference in your and others' lives. Start creating meaningful chapters in your book of LIFE now because only YOU can be the author of this book!
So second year into the journey now... I still clearly remember my business mentor shared some statistics with me that 50% of startup fail in first year and an even greater % fail in the second year. And I also remember telling him I want to be that small percentage that survive (about 2%, from memory) and continue to grow. Up until now, I am still sticking very closely to the 2% and "giving up" is never in my dictionary as I often tell people especially other startup friends.
Lately, many startup friends and friends who are thinking of starting up a business got in touch with me to exchange experiences and also to seek validation that what they are experiencing is normal.
So, I've decided to share a little bit about my early journey here. My intention of writing this article isn't about painting a blue sky picture with double rainbows. NO! I have to be utterly honest, it is freaking hard! I want to share this so you know one of the crucial ingredients to making it happen for your startup is your mindset (whether you're in planning stage or already in a startup journey). This is not a "How to' article to teach you about startup. I'm sure there are plenty of books and business programs where you can buy and signup to learn about business operation and systems. My hope is that you can relate to my story and gain values from here - my mindset.
Before founding Life's like Jazz, I was working as a senior Project Manager in a well-established MNC. I have a pretty good remuneration package. Life was good. I have all bills taken care of, savings, investments and extras to donate to make the world a better place. This makes it pretty meaningful.
Then I got thinking, can I do more than my role and can I do more beyond the company I work for? Of course the answer is yes and yes. So off I go... I plan, I plan and I plan still working hard at my very demanding job giving more than 100%. I kept telling myself I will wait for the right time to hand in my resignation but there's never the "right time", is there? I just have to do it! Leaving a job that I've enjoyed doing and great at for years. But the "reward' at the other end is so much better! I get to setup my own startup and make such a huge difference in others lives! How exciting that would be!
I got into the BIRTH stage of my business. Feeling all excited and so much to look forward to, I got my business name, registered my business, got my business card done and all other elements sorted. I have such a beautiful image in my mind! Because it is going to be so great, I'm doing something amazing and making a difference! Now I'm ready to rock!
Boom! Reality hit! I know about coaching, I am able to coach BUT I do not know how to run a business. I do not know how to do sales or market myself/my business! I shivered when I had to do my elevator pitch at networking event. I forced myself to network so much. Sometimes I have 6 networking events to go to in a week and sometimes 2 a day in a roll! Coming from a delivery background, this is extremely uncomfortable! And I have been advised that I have to have a social media presence, website, etc. I was learning like a robot! I was a very busy woman, doing everything, busy being BUSY! Did I manage to have new clients? No! I only had 2 clients. Months go by, money in the bank is reducing because there are business expenses to pay although I kept it at minimum. I was feeling the heat and then family challenges came into picture which of course makes the situation worst. I was feeling the pressure from all angle, I spent many teary nights and days. This is when I started asking myself "Is this for me? Wouldn't it be easier to just stop here and go back to doing what I do best and just settle with the peace of mind that money will come into the bank every month? That will take away all these uncomfortable feeling, stress and tears!"
I looked at my Vision Board, reminded myself of my WHY and I told myself this is just a test - a test from the Universe to see how much do I really want this! I didn't give up. I continued to bring myself to networking events. I keep showing up, put on my contagious smile, creating connections with people I met and keep showing up in all that I do not just networking. That didn't give me clients either. But what I focused on was building my confidence, getting more comfortable with sales & marketing. I chose to look at networking, sales & marketing from a different perspective now. Networking is about me getting out there to give others an opportunity to know me and an opportunity for me to serve and give values. In terms of sales & marketing, I chose to associate it with offering solutions to serve and help others. I started to focus on others, listening from my heart, giving values, realising it is not about getting business or clients, it is about serving from my heart! I buried my ego and replaced it with Creativity, Courage, Passion, Excellence, Resilience, Certainty and Love (those who knows me, I am the woman who's big with my 4 letter word - L-O-V-E). I never stop learning! Every single roadblock is just feedback to help me do better and to keep raising my standard to serve. I DO NOT make excuses when things don't go the way I wanted it to, instead I focus on making results - helping my clients create the result they want and give them what they need as well, and help them create the ripple effect in their lives!
So I passed the first year test from the Universe! Hooray! Things started to change after I made the first year milestone. I love this quote "Good things come to those who work their butts off and NEVER GIVE UP". I was building momentum steadily and being grateful to be able to serve the clients I have now and the clients I have yet to meet...
So this is part one of my startup journey. The essential element in making through the first year and passing the "test" is your Mindset; especially when you're on this journey alone (It can be very lonely and you can get lost easily in your own discouraging stories that often pops up when you start to face challenges from all angle). Your Mindset is your foundation, it creates the environment for yourself to keep going, keep your focus on WHY you want to do this and keep making progress, taking in all feedback and do better than yourself each time. It doesn't matter what business you're in, it is about having that Mindset that will take you through all tests.
Stay tune for Part 2... I hope you have found this useful. Feel free to reach out or leave me a comment.

Now, you may be asking "What can life coaching do for me? How will it help me?"
And here's what it can do, It gives you:
Different ways of looking at a situation allows you to make deep self-discoveries in where and why you feel stuck. By exploring how you got “stuck” and what’s behind your frustration, the deeper cause beneath your situation is identified.
When you've gained new perspectives, you become more aware and mindful of your beliefs and perception on your specific situation. This gets you ready to adopt new ways of thinking and achieving goals.
A large part of the coaching process is finding out where you are at now, where you want to be, and the vehicle to get there. It helps you take action when you’re feeling stuck. There may be fear or anxiety, uncertainty, or stress at play., or sometimes you just feel lost or disconnected or whatever it may be. I help you get re-oriented with your vision and goals by helping you find clarity and direction.
Potential & Purpose
By asking you deep and meaningful questions, you will find out what matters most to you and turn it into reality. By doing this and guiding you through the necessary changes and hurdles, you’ll reach your potential and find your purpose.
I AM your advocate. I'm here to encourage, support and champion you, but most importantly, to help you make progress. I hold you accountable for doing what’s necessary in order for you to make the changes and become who you want to be.
During the coaching journey, you have to commit to taking actions toward reaching your goals. I will keep you motivated by making sure you have a clear vision, purpose, direction, and progress. I'm directly invested in your success so you can expect to be motivated and mentally fuelled up to climb the mountain and pursue your goals.

If you haven’t yet done your self reflection, perhaps you’d want to give this a go before you start looking at setting goals for the new year. This is a very simple yet empowering routine. I do this every year!
As you go through this and making it your new routine, it’ll lead you to setting goals and action plans that truly matter to you and sing to your heart and they become Gold! Isn’t that wonderful?
People lost momentum and drop goals not because they’re not capable of achieving them… it’s often the goals and action plans don’t matter that much to them! They don’t serve a bigger purpose. Now this is worth thinking hey?!
So what are you going to do with your goals and action plans for the new year? Pleaae don’t let the year come and go just like that… Our life is meant to be lived so make it matter.
Have a great week! x
Hello hello… I’m back on my blog again! How good this is! Trust all of you have been really well.
So this is a very interesting topic…. Are you present? Has anyone asked you this question before? I wonder what comes up in your mind. I ask myself this question very often too!
Is being present important? Hell yeah! It’s about living in the moment… It’s about:
I know… It’s very easy to forget to stay present especially when we’re busy with our day-to-day lives racing against time to get things done. But it’s not that hard when we put in effort to practice it. You’ll be surprised how much more you can accomplish when you’re present. It’s a great experience.
Try and do this simple exercise… Try observe your thoughts especially when you’re doing mundane things like brushing teeth… What comes up in your mind when you brush your teeth? You’ll be surprised your mind just easily wander into the past or the future instead of staying focus with the act of brushing! Mine too!
Whether you’re a past or future person. It’s time to change that… Don’t live in the past or the future. The past is already gone. We learn from our past but we live in the NOW. And please do not worry about the future. Do you know that when we spend too much time worrying about the future, we’re just robbing the present moment of us? When we make the best out of the present moment, that’s staying very focus and when we do that, we are shaping up for an amazing future… the future that we want. This applies to anyone in anything we do… Be it finding our purpose or pursuing our goals or simply taking actions.
If for some reasons, you are unable to let go of your past, ask yourself these questions (Please be honest with your answers):
How present are you now when reading this blog? If your answer is 100%, that’s fantastic but if you’re unsure, why not give yourself the gift of living in the present moment? Go ahead and allow yourself to enjoy the moment and master the art of staying focus. The value is truly amazing!
Have a super awesome start to the week!
Happy everyday all! Yes this is me spreading my usual contagious happiness again! After all, life is about making choices that make us happy, isn’t it?
The season of Love, Peace and Hope is here and we are fast approaching the New Year! Some of you may have started thinking or talking about New Year’s resolutions. And some of you may be reviewing the New Year’s resolution list you made last year and wondering why haven’t you achieved them all. I wonder what’s playing in your mind now… Are you justifying why you haven’t achieved your last year New Year’s resolution? Or are you thinking if it’s worth doing New Year’s resolution at all?
A long time ago, just like everyone else, I have the same mindset.. I start reviewing my New Year’s resolution list around this time of the year before setting new ones. I soon realised this process doesn’t help me achieve my goals and live to be who I want to be… So I’ve decided to recreate ME! And that was my first step!
So, here we go… Instead of creating a wishlist (New Year’s resolutions), how about setting 2-3 (you can have more if you like) solid goals to achieve in the New Year? Be mindful to make them quality goals and support them with inspiring and actionable action plan! For example, if your goal is to shake off a few pounds/kilos in the New Year, you need to ask yourself how you are going to achieve that.
Setting goals and creating action plan are just 2 simple steps… The critical step is committing to yourself. What’s the good of having amazing goals and action plan but not committing to your own results? The only way to achieving your results and starting to live the life you’ve wanted is to take full responsibility and commit to your action plan. We need to know that nobody else is responsible for our life except us.
Whatever your goal may be, here are some take-away for you…
You’ll fuel yourself with a different level of energy if you’re able to implement the above 5 simple take-away in your life and start to experience the very first baby step of recreating YOU!
If you’re thinking of recreating you in the New Year, drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how I can help. I offer a FREE Mindset Discovery session to help identify what holds you back and what drives you towards creating the life you want.
Stay tune for the next blog… Till then, don’t forget to be awesome and make it contagious too!
What is the Law of Attraction?
In my quirky term, Law of Attraction is the “Genie” (without the lamp) that grants our wish. It attracts what we desire or wish for into our lives through the thoughts we produce. The happy news is that this Genie doesn’t limit us to 3 wishes. We can ask for as many as we want! Yay! Isn’t this wonderful?
Now that we know we can ask and it will be granted… The question is how do we ask?
Did you know that Genie is always in action? Every event that happened (positive or negative) was attracted by us! Say we were thinking of a friend and the next day this friend calls us! Wonder how that happened? We’ve attracted this without realising Genie has picked up the thoughts and sent it off to the Universe to do its magic!
The human mind works on a Belief System and it constantly produces thoughts (both positive and negative). But the Universe doesn’t have a filtering program that distinguishes positive from negative thoughts. It responses to what we focus our thoughts on. So, what can we do to make it work? Short answer is… Start watching our thoughts and focus on positive ones!
To put the Law of Attraction into action, we have to start from the mind, set lucid intentions, focus and believe what we want will become reality. The Universe responds really well to our calm, lucid and focused mind. If you feel you have a very busy mind, go for a walk to relax the mind. (Did you know that walking is a form of meditation too? But that’s a different topic all together )
When we’ve set our intentions and are feeling extremely enthusiastic with what we want, our thoughts will be picked up by the Universe. It is important that there is no self-doubt. If there is uncertainty, the Universe will pick up the unclear frequency and send us undesired results. If you have doubts, quickly replace that with positive thoughts and focus on receiving your “gift” from the Universe.
What’s next? Visualise an image of what we want and send it off to the Universe.. If you want a new TV but only have a certain budget for it, you picture yourself watching the TV and tell yourself the TV that you wanted will be on special soon.
We know that nothing happens without action… e.g the TV is on sale but if we don’t check out the shops, we will completely miss it. Or if we’re wishing for some wonderful hearty meals and we’re given a free meal box (Genie in action by the way!) but if we don’t take the action to cook it, there will not be nice warm hearty meals. So action is important in getting the results from the Universe. Taking action isn’t always easy but it’s always simple.
Be mindful that if you’re constantly worried about negative outcomes, then you’re applying the Law of Attraction AGAINST yourself. You still do the same thing but towards attracting negative outcomes. So why not stop being a Worrywart and focus your mind on what you DO want instead of what you worry about or what you don’t want. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this change. It will be very refreshing for your mind and body!
One last but very important thing…. Always send your gratitude to the Universe. Be thankful for what you already have and you will continue to attract abundance into your life!
What I love to do when working with my Genie is to combine my very own version of the Power of 3 – Visualisation, Affirmation, Action! I never stop believing because I know that I’ll receive the “gift” when I believe. And I’m always thankful to the Universe for everything.
It may take time to practice Law of Attraction and be good at it but if you always keep a positive mindset and believe in it, you will have pleasant experiences.
Now go ahead and try it out… Try wishing for easy and measurable things to start with and enjoy the journey!
Till next time, have a amazing day and week!
And in life, we also have 2 choices… We can choose to be our own cheerleader or our own antagonist… The choice is ours. And of course the outcome will be different.
The human mind is an amazing garden that produces what we plant instantly. When we decide that we will experience an amazing day, the mind will automatically focus on Seeing, Hearing, Feeling, Saying and Doing positive things. Some people call this the Law of Attraction (this is another favourite of mine and I’ll talk about Law of Attraction in the next blog).
We’re all human beings and feeling of emotion is absolutely normal…. It is how we react to our emotions and the energy around us that matters. We are a magnet to what happens around us…
Have you ever noticed someone reading a book titled “Be Happy”, reading it over and over again but the energy in this person is completely the opposite and you wonder why? This is because happiness is a choice…. Holding and reading such a book will not cheer us up, neither will it create a significant impact to our life. It is the cheerleader in every one of us that can enable the miracle!
Observe a toddler learning to walk…. when this little one successfully picks herself up after a fall and continues walking, the clapping of those little hands and that joy on the little face is pure gold. It’s because this little person has just ignited the cheerleader in her to keep going!
The more I observe the world, the more I’m convinced that life is truly 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent our attitude towards life and how we respond.
Have you tried making a conscious choice to experience a happy day when you rise in the morning and noticed the difference in your day? I’d be curious to know how your day unfolds after you’ve planted a happy seed in your mind garden early in the morning! So feel free to leave me a comment and tell me how your day went!
Till next time, have a happy day and week!
